How we choose stories

We cover topics that large numbers of people are actively searching for, using public trend data (such as Google Trends) and the reporting of established news organisations. We do not cover rumours about private individuals, explicit content or graphic violence.

Sourcing

Every article is based on reporting from identifiable, reputable sources, which we credit and link in the "Sources" section at the end of the article. Claims are attributed to the outlet or person who made them. We do not invent quotes, figures or events.

Our use of AI

We use AI writing tools to help draft summaries and explainers from the source reporting. The AI is instructed to use only facts present in the sources, to write in original language rather than copying, and to decline when the sources are insufficient. Drafts are reviewed by an editor, who is responsible for what we publish.

Images

We use licensed stock photography (credited in the article) or our own generated title cards. We do not reuse other publishers' photos.

Corrections

When we get something wrong we fix it promptly. Report errors through our contact page.

Independence

Advertising is clearly labelled and has no influence on what we cover or how. We do not publish paid content disguised as news.
